Most of us know about the obvious signs of an immediate heart trouble or what we call a heart attack. These signs include pain in the left arm, acute chest pain, difficulty in breathing, nausea etc. However, are these the only signs through which our body communicates that our heart trouble is tipping beyond the point? No. Here are 9 signs that indicate a red light for our cardio-vascular health:

  1. Bleeding Gums: Bleeding gums indicate an underlying problem with the way blood is being pumped by heart and transported through arteries and veins.
  2. Swollen limbs: Swollen feet or hands indicate fluid retention in the body. You can take a test – simply take off your socks and if your see deep marks around the ankle, there may be a problem.
  3. Profuse sweating: Profuse sweating without any obvious reasons is a sign that your heart is about to undergo a major problem. If you are sitting in a relaxed manner and suddenly start sweating profusely without any strain or physical activity, it is time to consult your doctor.
  4. Persistent coughing: Persistent coughing indicates water retention in the lungs, though this may not always be true. However, any sign of water retention in lungs is a sure signal of heart trouble and in that case, you must immediately consult your doctor.
  5. Chronic snoring: Although some systems of medicine recognize snoring as a sign of deep sleep zone and associate it with relaxation, if the snoring is accompanied by sleep apnea, the chances of having a heart attack are much more.
  6. Nausea and loss of appetite: Loss of appetite, if chronic, must be taken seriously enough to visit a doctor. This happens when you feel nausea and there is fluid build-up in the abdominal cavity. This causes bloating and you feel no hunger. These are immediate signs of an unhealthy heart and must not be neglected at any cost.
  7. Persistent dizziness: This is caused by irregular heart rhythm and irregular pumping of blood. This may be accompanied by light-headedness and fainting. If this is the case then your heart is terribly unhealthy and you must consult your physician immediately.
  8. Sudden fatigue:General body weakness is always a sign of poor health but the chances of an extremely unhealthy heart are doubled if along with weakness, you experience sudden overwhelming fatigue.
  9. Severe feebleness: If lately you have started to feel feeble – as if all the air in your lungs has suddenly been sucked out and there is no energy left – this despite the fact that you haven’t been doing any strenuous activity, there is a real danger of a heart attack in the near future.

The environment we live in today is riddled with factors that aggravate the conditions of our heart. This is why now a day no one whether young or old is safe from cardiac ailments -this in addition to the rising costs of medical procedures, inflation a person understands the need for a comprehensive medical plan aimed towards providing financial care for when you are diagnosed with a cardiac condition or are undergoing any cardiac procedure.
