A Daughter's Gift – HDFC Life

November 04, 2016
Meera is a strong and independent young woman. She’s a great boss, a wonderful friend and most importantly, a doting daughter. Whenever she’s out having lunch with her co-workers, she’s always seen laughing and enjoying life. She’s quick with a witty remark and is always there to help others when they need it. Honestly, Meera is a happy person and the life of every party she attends.

Looking at Meera today, nobody would realise that her life wasn’t always quite so happy. Meera lost her mom when she was just 11 years old, but her father never let her feel like she only had one parent. He worked hard to ensure Meera had the opportunity to attend every class she wanted to – she learned how to play the piano, played hockey for her school and excelled in academics. Despite the fact that he had to take on an extra job, Meera’s father made it to every game she played, every parent-teacher meeting in school and every annual day function.

Meera learned the importance of hard work from her father and did her best in her studies. She was able to secure a high rank and go to Mumbai, the city of dreams, to pursue her higher education. She had set herself a goal, and she worked hard to achieve it. After passing all her exams with flying colours, she managed to secure herself a scholarship to a prestigious US university for her MBA.

It’s been two years since Meera’s returned home to her father and started working at a well-known MNC. She’s thankful that her father always provided for her and took care of her, but now that he’s retired, she knows it’s her turn to step up and look after him..

Meera may not show it today, but life’s uncertainties always scared her. After she lost her mother in an accident, she knew that nothing was guaranteed, which is why she decided to work hard and achieve all her dreams. Even today, Meera knows that life in unpredictable. But, she’s decided to purchase a life insurance policy, as it’s the only stable thing she can definitely count on. Meera pays a small premium every year for her policy, but the cost is definitely worth the peace of mind it provides her. One of the reasons Meera is always so happy and upbeat is because she knows that there’s an insurance policy that will secure her father’s financial future should anything happen to her. With this policy, Meera knows that she will always be there for her father – in the same way he was always there for her while she was growing up.

Your story may not be like Meera’s, but insurance is something that each and every one of us needs in our lives. It’s the security blanket that provides us and our family members with some financial flexibility during incredibly trying times. Many of us overlook insurance as simply income tax-saving tool – but it is so much more than that. It’s a reliable partner that can help you and your family through life.
